EuropeanPioneers startup Splash raises 2.5 million dollars

27. June 2016

Virtual reality startup Splash received a total of two and a half million dollars at a recent round of funding. This year’s winner of the SXSW Accelerator Award was also a participant in the recently concluded batch of EuropeanPioneers, an EU accelerator run by etventure. We wish to congratulate Splash on receiving this latest round of funding worth 2.5 million dollars!

The Berlin-based startup Splash makes it possible to create virtual reality videos without the need for special glasses or a 360° camera. The international consortium of investors who are now supporting Splash is headed up by Greycroft Partners. The other investors are Advancit, Felix Capital BDMI, Seedcamp, DENA, Kevin Wall and e.ventures.

Laura Kohler, Geschäftsführerin European Innovation Hub

Laura Kohler, managing director of European Innovation Hub and the head of the accelerator program, says: “We are delighted on Splash’s behalf. For eight months, we supported a total of 13 startups with EuropeanPioneers. The accelerator program not only included 175,000 euros of funding per startup, it also provided comprehensive content support – from developing the business model and performing user testing right through to marketing the business idea. Startups that achieve this kind of success during or after the program are the best testimonials of our work.”
