Die Stuttgarter ECCLESIA Group and other insurances

At wavespace Berlin Kreuzberg five well-known competing insurance companies HDI, ECCLESIA Group, Provinzial NordWest, Die Stuttgarter and Barmenia cooperated in insurHUB with start-ups and cross-industry partners in order to develop several business model innovations for the insurance industry. During the nine month-program, first business ideas were validated, Minimal Viable Products (MVP) were built and employees were enabled to acquire important digital know-how which they will transfer to their companies to drive cultural change. wavespace offered the unique possibility to try and also fail in an inspirational and secure environment, to connect with start-ups and to access the expertise of etventure in building successful companies.

It is really fun to be here! What I really like about wavespace is the fact that co-creation is not just theoretically discussed but realized.

insurHub - Innovation Lab The insurHUB is a 9-month innovation program in which five well-known competing insurance companies (HDI, ECCLESIA Group, Provinzial NordWest, Die Stuttgarter and Barmenia) work together with their partners EY Innovalue, SAP and V.E.R.S. GmbH to develop new innovations for the insurance industry.

  • wavespace provided participants with access to its ecosystem and thus enabled them to network with the startup scene and to realize cross-industry workshops, for example with big industry players such as Viessmann, which helped to generate and execute several ideas.
  • Several inspirational talks and trainings held by etventure experts on insurance platforms, scrum and data topics are hosted regularly and became part of the company culture.
  • Through the insurHUB program, competitors jointly developed innovative and customer-centric ideas and learned to apply new-work methods that foster cultural change.
